Advanced subscription and notification

Increase user awareness of relevant updates by adding more subscription options for highly personalized, automated alerts and notifications

  • automated alerts and notifications (instead of relying on the measure developer sending out an announcement message)

  • additional digest log frequency, aggregation, and targeted notification to reduce email overload

  • optimize the content included in the digest log to provide users with the most useful information

  • additional subscription options (i.e., "subscribe to all HVAC measures", "subscribe to all commercial measures", “sunsetting measures”)

  • Ability for base users to subscribe to measure reports that would send automatic alerts and notifications when there are certain changes (e.g., status change, new measure update started, new measure package started) to the report and/or to specific measures

  • In-app notification or personalized change log dashboard, instead of email notification

Restrict measure status change notifications to relevant contributor roles

Limit measure status change notifications to only measure contributor roles in the group. CPUC users should NOT receive email notifications that result from measure log activity/entries from Measure Developer users (unless they're submitting or resubmitting for CPUC Review). Right now, it's notification overload. We should really devise a system where email notifications are only sent to users to whom the activity/log entry pertains. E.g., a CPUC Admin should be able to "notify" a CPUC SME directly. The CPUC SME shouldn't need to get an email notification if the CPUC Admin puts a log entry in that's really meant for the CPUC Reviewer to see and act upon.

Implement a 90-day notification system for expiring measure packages.

Receive notification that a measure package you are subscribed to is about to expire (e.g., 90-day window, 60-day ,30-day). This will notify all parties that a version of the measure package will soon expire and allow programs to prepare for it. A 90-day window would give adequate time to expire measures in systems and provide updates to all parties.

Sunset is defined by (1) when an End Date is set but no new draft is open or (2) if latest version is “CPUC Rejected”, “Cancelled”, or “Hold”.

"Create a Notification Log on the User's Dashboard that allows for preferences to be set on what to post:

    • Sunset measures (#41)

    • New measure published (#42)

    • Existing measure has corrections (#42)

    Create a Preferences section that:

    • Allows preferences to identify items by priority (high/med/low) so that priority can be used to filter (or otherwise designate what is more or less important).

    • Allows group subscriptions of measures through the user dashboard, which may include broader categories such as (1) all new measures (ie, version 01 published) or (2) all measures in a specific use category (including all new measures). Help connect selection to needs (like subscribed measures).

    • Allows certain filtering to be set across the eTRM (by subscribed measures, climate zones, use category, etc).

Enable automatic email notifications entry in Notification Log to users who are subscribed to measures when (1) a new measure is published and (2) a measure is published (updates/corrections)."
